Torre de Almedina
Located in the lower part of the medieval fence, it had as function to watch and to defend the main door of access to the interior of the wall.
Its construction dates back to the time of Count Sesnando Davides, who conquered Coimbra in the 18th century. XI and has undergone reforms and remodeling throughout the centuries.
The access to the tower is made by the Port of Barbacã, a typical construction of the Manueline period.
